#2 Scenery Stills the Mind

Views and magical scenery stills the mind and allows original thoughts to flow through. To be lost in stress and repetitive thoughts is to ruminate, which suffocates originality.
Most of us are attracted to a beautiful scenery.
It's worth a long arduous hike and even a higher monthly rent just to enjoy a view that looks good.
But what is it about a scenery that attracts us so much?
While we can't be fully sure, the insight I had to the experience is how open views seem to reflect back to create an open empty mind.
The more quiet our mind is, the more original thoughts can be allowed to flow in which can lead to new insights and discoveries.
It makes quite a bit of sense upon reflection.
When we go through our everyday life, we have a tendency to similarly go through our everyday thoughts.
Thoughts we think have any value by being held on to and repeated.
It's almost as if we believe the act of worrying will solve the problem that worries us.
But the problem that worries us–is the worry itself–kept alive by repeating the same thoughts that brings it to life.
Stillness
When I look get a from-above view across a beautiful valley, awe strikes me.
It makes my mind quiet, or at the very least has the thoughts spinning at a slower pace.
New thoughts set in, and with it–new feelings.
These new feelings are in many ways exactly what we seem to be looking for, a different way to experience our life.
And even if that wasn't the case, it's almost always a beautiful feeling leading to the experience of a beautiful life.
There's no doubt in my mind that expanding one's view is to expand one's life.
To be fair, it's not really the scenery that does it.
It's us allowing ourselves to quiet our minds for just a bit to have new thoughts–to stop clinging.
That ability is always available to us, we just seem to remember to do it when we witness something awe-inspiring as a beautiful scenery.
