#7 Bother isn't Bothering

#7 Bother isn't Bothering
Being totally unbothered in New Zealand.
It no longer bothers me that it bothers me.

This has been one of the most surprising experiences when realising the nature of thought.

Bothersome things still happen and I still have thoughts that pull on those that-doesn't-feel-too-good chords inside–but it's no longer a problem.

It used to be my reality.

If I feel bothered, then I'm living in a bothersome reality and life isn't good, right?

I don't see it that way anymore.

If I feel bothered, I know my quality of thinking is just off in the moment.

I know not to take what I feel and think seriously, that it will auto-correct itself in just a bit.

That insight, leading to such a shift in perspective–has been life changing.

Moods

We all have moods.

Sometimes we're riding a high feeling and sometimes it's a low feeling.

I have to reiterate the tattoo-friendly quote from George Pransky:

"The only trick in life is to be grateful for your highs and graceful with your lows".

Having deep insights about the nature of our reality being primarily a psychological experience allows us to live life more from the inside-out experience rather than mistaking the external world as coming towards us and being the way we believe it to be.

No two people see the world the same way, if they don't–how could the external world ever be truly objective?

One's Michelin dinner is the others swine fodder.

As our moods change, so does our reality.

Knowing this, why would you ever be bothered by being bothered?
